I know that iPhone apps that are displayed at 2x (and 1x) on my iPad 2 don't look too good. Will the retina display make an iPhone app look better on the third generation iPad running at 2x? I'm assuming they will look as good as a retina displayed iPhone at 1x.

I'm just a user without much knowledge of displays and resolution. Sorry if it's a dumb question to ask or if it's been discussed before.

I'd like to know as well but I would think it would look even worse. Unless apple removes the restriction they have in place now. I'm thinking of RetinaPad on jail broken device when I talk about restrictions.

I would think that they would look worse because they are optimized for a much smaller screen, so there are less pixels in each image.
