I currently have this for my desktop specs. It does everything I want it to do, include play games decently. How will my new macbook stack up?

Custom Windows PC

Processor - 3.2GHz AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T
Memory - 8.00 GB
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
HDD - 500 GB 7200 RPM

Macbook Retina 15"

Processor - 2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
Memory - 16.00 GB
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
HDD - 768 GB Flash Storage

Help is appreciated as I plan on selling the desktop if the laptop can do or come close to doing the same things.

It should be better in just about every way. Gaming at native resolution might be a little straining for the GPU though. Gaming on the same display you're using with your PC should give you better performance.

Music to my ears. I hope this is the case.
