How will the 24th be at an Apple Store?

I need to pick up a white Bumper on the 24th. I work in NYC so I want to cab it over to the 57th St Apple Store to pick one up before they sell out there too.

Is this a good idea? Since I don't need a iPhone 4, I don't need to wait on that line?

So they are going to have a run of phones at Apple stores on the 24th? This morning the date was changed to 7/2 and now it reads 7/14. Is that just the date you can expect to pick up if you try to pre-order now? I was lucky enough to get through yesterday and get an email confirmation for the 24th, but all of these date changes are a bit confusing....
