How will the IOS 5 Newsstand app affect Zinio, PressReader and individual apps? If magazines and newspapers using these apps migrate to Newsstand, will the other apps disappear? I have one PressReader subscription and four Zinio subscriptions. Most magazine and newspaper companies appear to be befuddled by digital subscriptions and their digital operations don't seem to communicate with their print operations very well.

I wonder this as well. I have a bunch of zinio subscriptions (Zinio's been around for a decade), and many I converted from print to Zinio. I hope I can do the same to newstand. Probably we'll have to cancel for a refund and then buy from iTunes.

Good question. At present some magazines have their own apps While others use Zinio etc. It seems that Newsstand favours the former.

Yeah, it's a good opportunity for the publishers to go direct with Apple and preserve come margin. That's good for getting actually decent content out there!
