So I'm confused...if we get a 4G signal when we're on 3G+ now...how will I know when I'm on 4G with the new iPad?

I have not played with a non-wifi model of the ipad, so I'm sorry if this the answer to my question is common-knowledge:
Do we have the option to turn off the 3G/4G radios when not in use? I'd assume so since there was a mention about being able to track data usage.
I'd like to have it off and not running down battery when I'm connected over wifi.
Thanks in advance.
It'll say "LTE" in the top left corner. Scroll down here: http://www.apple.com/ipad/features/
Great. Thank you for the only adult answer in the thread.
If you are at Broadway and 57th, you have 4G.
Seriously though:
ATT 4G Map (4G=orange dots)
VZW 4G Map (4G=dark red dots)
iPad will have "4G" indicator if you are on the 4G network.
Well what did you expect? Could you seriously not find that yourself?
