Who says they don't ship you a 4 and jokes on you thinking its a 4s? or future sales even?

Look at the band. If it has four plastic spacers and a SIM tray, its a 4S. If it doesn't, then its a 4.

I plan to take advantage of this. I'm buying a 4s, opening the box and swapping it with my iPhone 4 and then selling it as a 'barely used iPhone 4s' for a high price on Craigslist or eBay! Instant profit!

There's an easier and faster way to tell them apart:

- unlock iPhone
- go to Settings
- tap on General
- select About
- look for Serial Number
- apply the following rule:

1. If the 7th character is letter B, M, P, S, or Z, then it's iPhone 4
2. If the 7th character is none of the above letters but the 9th character is letter D, then it's iPhone 4
3. If the last 2 characters end in ZZ, ZT, or ZS, then it's iPhone 4
4. Finally, if none of the above matches, then it's iPhone 4S

My head hurts... :(

Um, no thanks.

That's easier than checking for Siri?

How is this easier and faster?

It reminds me of that rhyme everyone always uses to tell how many days are in each month. I always think, "That would help, if it wasn't so freaking random" :p

People, calm down. He's being sarcastic.

Until someone tests it out and sees if it has Siri.

This could become a problem if the jailbreak community figures out how to add siri to the iPhone 4. You can easily trick someone who is not tech-savvy and they will never even know the phone is jailbroken (hide cydia icons, etc..) By the time they update their software and realize siri is suddenly gone it might be too late.
