So, ever since my late 2008 Unibody MacBook Pro came from the Apple store repair (cosmetic changes: new display and top case) my comp always crashes to black screen with audio looping after some time under Windows Vista/7 (especially during games and connected to the LED Cinema Display). This happens EVERY single time. This happened a couple times in OS X, but I don't use OS X for games (downloaded a free demo in order to test) so not too often.
My guess is that they changed the logic board because the part where it was dented in the top case was (no surprise) the ethernet port and the Apple genius marked it as damaged (though it still worked if I forced it).
Course like all things in life, when I went to show it to them at the Apple store, no crashes (and they even used their graphics test alongside the game alongside a 30" (not 24" like mine) HD Cinema Display). They are only able to test it on OS X as Windows isn't Apple's jurisdiction, but I'm convinced it's hardware as three different hard drives did nothing.
Right now it's there overnight (and going on another night if they don't call me) for testing. I was wondering whether there was any way to test it without stressing or anything.
I eventually changed hard drive and upgraded the OS to 7, but before that, it still crashed with nothing changed since the repair shop.
Thanks!
