I was thinking about getting a new Mac Pro and buying a WD raptor 10k 150gb drive to have the OS installed on.

Do I just use their OSX software and install it on that drive, then wipe the other so I could use it for storing music etc?

Sorry, havent had much experience with multiple HD's but I'm starting to store more and more data and will probably want 2. I had a 10k rpm HD in my Dell and loved the added speed with everything and wanted to have the same power in my Mac. Might even get a 3rd Raptor HD for Bootcamp to save some of my PC programs when I decided to toss it ou.

Any suggestions?

You got a few options really.

Firstly you could just clone your current system disk to the new one (SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner can do this for you). You could then wipe the other drive.

If you want to go fresh you can pop a new HDD in and then install straight from you OS X DVD.

If you have a Time Machine backup of your HDD you can copy that on to a new HDD using the utility on the OS X DVD.
