This is on the very first cycle out of the box... charged it to 100% and started using it. Was wary at first of the fast declining battery but it managed to hold on for quite a bit, a lot longer than the Android I was coming from.
 
After being on an Andriod since January, it's nice to have my phone last from 9am to 2am on a single charge honestly :eek:

It'd be helpful if you specified which model of Android phone you are referring to, as just saying Android implies there is something inherent in the os that givers poor battery life when that is not the case. Larger screens, LTE speeds, etc. also play a factor.

I've owned a HTC G1 and HTC Legend before the iPhone 4 and Dell Streak and LG Optimus 2X after the iPhone 4. They all had horrible battery.
