Just wondering if Apple had done anything to make macOS an actual modern OS.

On Windows, there's the Xbox Game bar that can easily screen record, including any system audio, eg. a Zoom call.

Apple has quicktime for screen recording, but only records mic input for the audio, and doesn't record internal audio. There are workarounds involving plugins etc, but seriously, I thought macOS was the multimedia champion with their advance core audio etc. Has anything improved in Ventura?

Yes, there is a new screen capture API (actually in 12.3, but it was a bit buggy) that's much faster and can capture audio, it can captures screen and audio of a single app too, or a single window.
Apple contributed some code to OBS use the new API, so it doesn't need a third-party plugin to capture audio anymore: https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/pull/5875

Unfortunately it seems they forgot to enable audio capture in QuickTime Player, so you can use OBS for now.

Oh cool, thanks for the info.

And geez Apple, how behind are they in their own software? Really concerning.
