iPhone Air How's the Air with document scanning?

I scan a decent amount of documents with my iPhone 16 (base). Really on the fence here with the iPhone Air's single camera. I like the Air a lot but the document scanning aspect is giving me pause. Debating between a base 17 or an Air.

Anyone with the Air scan some documents? How did they fare not having the ultrawide for closeups?

I use mobile Adobe scan and the Air works perfect - zoomed into a document that I am sending:

It’s not the best mate. I’ve tried on my driving licence, had to use the 2x to get a decent close up. Here’s an example:

What causes this? Does 16e have this problem too?
