Any comparisons of the iPhone camera still pictures against pixel 6 0 pro?
For the last couple of years i bought iPhones only to return them and get the pixel phones. I preferred the pixel pictures compared to iPhones in the past.

I hope this year it's not gonna the case

There's a review here which compares to pixel 6 and it's not pretty for iPhone 14 pro.

Back to Pixel for me :(

I've got it, on my desk. I will return to store unopened and wait to see what the Pixel 7 is like.

I'm torn. I love my iPhone 11pro for everything else it does, including video. It makes my work-life easier too.

But I hate the images it produces. My old Pixel 4a and my wife's 6a are so far ahead.

What’s wrong with iPhone 14 Pro pictures? Seems pretty good and similar to iPhone 13 Pro. And iPhone takes much better cinematic video. Both are so much better than iPhone 11 Pro, I’m not understanding the logic of going back to that one.

The images are over-processed on iPhones, with aggressive noise reduction and sharpening; especially versus Pixels which retain a lot more detail and realism. The link above shows that.

So far as Apple goes, I'm not seeing much difference between 11pro - 14pro in all honesty. Not for stills, in fact someone posted a cat pic from their 14pro on another forum and the 11pro was better (more fine detail).

I looked at each of the pictures in this review, decided which ones looked best, and then looked to see what the reviewer had to say. In most cases the iPhone pictures looked better/more clear to me. But the reviewer did have some information about the actual colors and composition of the images. Regardless, the iPhone pictures looked better/more clear. Maybe in some cases the colors might not have been as accurate?

The pictures that had me concerned were not part of this review. I don’t remember where I saw them. It was a nighttime cityscape and the pixel photo looked much nicer. Like difference between night and day nicer. Then I think back to all of the night cityscape pictures I have taken over the years and realize that number is zero.

I am not a big time photographer. I just want pictures to look nice.

That's just the way Apple always set up its image processing, it generates a more pleasant natural look, easier on the eyes that Apple thinks most people would want. But if you don't like it, just take the raw picture and process it every time.

11pro - 14pro differences way more evident at night time or difficult lighting. Under normal sunlight they all look pretty similar. And again, video wise it's not even close.

A more natural look is when you don't over process the image - the exact opposite of what Apple do.
And they do it to remove noise and artificially sharpen the file because they can't get as much detail as Google would with their pixel.

When I read threads like this, I realize how un-picky I am. Yes, in side by side comparisons I can see the differences you speak of. But any flagship phone made in past few years takes great pictures when viewed in a vacuum. This is all arguing about that last few percent.
