hello, i have a macbook late 2009 with latest high sierra and one HDD with 2 partitions.

i also have a macbook pro mid 2012 (9,2) 13in, core i5, that has new osx mojave (not sure if i have to upgrade to catalina) and i want to move all my files, including the OSX operating system from macbook to macbook pro.

Due to the fact these 2 hdds have different OSX versions and capacities not sure what and how to do and if it will work. I want to move all my software and files and all prefs etc ofcourse from one Hdd to other.

any help with instructions on the above are appreciated.

PS
I can reformat if needed for example the macbook pro if it accepts high sierra so i can be on same operating system on both and then i upgrade with clean usb osx mojave if its possible.

i also run CC2018 suite and FCP X on the high sierra and dont want to upgrade to higher versions for compatibility reasons
