HP 1120C Serial convert to USB or Ethernet?

We have this fantastic HP 1120C printer that has a parallel connector (from an old PC). I'd like to either convert this to USB so the Mac can use it or to an ethernet connect so it could be used on our little network.

I'm sure it's possible, but I can't find anything on the web about how or what to buy to make this happen. Anybody ever done this before?

First of all, after a huge amount of research, the HP 1120 isn't directly compatible with Mac's it seems (at least the parallel version that is). What is required with the parallel conector is a keyspan parallel to usb converter. However, this still won't do the trick.

What's needed is a driver created by some kind open source people (there are a few others floating around as well).

Me? No way - I stay away from parallel cables and devices that use them, since I'm a Mac person and always have been
