HP 1320 Eternity of Spooling/Queued

I'm running 10.6.8 snow leopard, I had encountered this problem a long time ago and had fixed it somehow but cannot remember what I did. But my 1320 takes forever to print a job and when it does it prints 1 page of the job and then takes another 10 minutes just to print another page when I'm running a job of 5 copies of the same thing. Regardless of what I print it just seems to sit in limbo with it's green flashing light. I've tried looking for updated drivers but haven't had much luck.

alright I fixed i don't remember what it was but I fixed it. But now I'm having issues with the hp utility, Snow Leopard knows the printer is there and is configured but when I try to launch the hp utility app it can't find my printer. What gives?
