I am no HP printer wiz (especially in OS X) but I am having trouble with the new 6500a. Here is the story:

I had an original HP OJ6500 (came with duplex) that broke. I decided to get a new printer, and made sure that it was AirPrint compatible for convenience. HP offers the "new" 6500a and 6500a PLUS. The "PLUS" version comes with a duplex and the base version did not. Being clever I planned on taking the duplex off of the broken 6500 and place it on a new 6500a (non PLUS version) and save the money difference.

Everything fits and looks like it should work but the printer does not recognize the duplex unit and I cannot find a way to force it to double side print. All of the instructions I find in regards to a fix are windows based. Any help appreciated...
