Howdy folks,

Someone at work is selling a 1yr old HP 940c printer for $50.

My current setup is an old 500 class HP printer hooked up to a PC running Win2K using a parallel connection. I couldn't get my current HP printer to work on the LAN through Gimp print, so I am thinking about getting the 940c for the purpose of sharing it between my Mac and PCs.

Does anybody have an 940c in a similar setup? I would like to hook the printer to the PC, and print through the LAN from my iBook.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I tried to do something very similar to this, and also had no success. My problem was that the official printer software won't install because it can't find the printer directly connected to the computer! I would appreciate some advice too. (My situation was the opposite - I had the printer hooked up to my Mac and tried to print to it from a PC.)
