the device is not even recognized by my MacBook Pro!!!

i don't know what to do anymore, i have installed the updated software and i never even see the device pop up. it's weird cuz it works well on my pc, and it's recognized on my sister's acer laptop but can't install.

Wat's the problem????

please help! i have an assignment for tomorrow

the only solution i cld see is that the usb cable is a bit rusty, can anyone help?

After you installed the latest drivers, have you gone into Print/Fax preferences and tried to remove/re-add the printer? And using a rusty USB cable is not going to ensure good data transfer. Perhaps the corrosion pattern rubbed out in such a pattern that it'll only get a good connection with your PC?

yea, i tried to add the printer but it still never came up.

d "latest drivers" u r tlking about, is that the latest drivers for the printer itself or are there drivers for mac printers in general

Drivers are generally model/brand specific. Going to hp.com and putting F4480 into the search field pulled up the 10.6 drivers.
