Hello, as I have posted back in 2009, i bought my Mac mini in July with an Acer 23" display. Once i got it all set up, i realized that there were small, pinstripe looking distortions that were very dim, but very noticeable on gray or darker colors. Thinking it was a technical issue, i returned the display and got an HP 2009m 20" (this one had speakers, which was a relief for the mini's small speaker) and had a glossy screen. But i saw those same pinstripes on this one.
I was able to make them go away a bit by leveling out the contrast to 50, and the brightness to about 95.
They don't show when i boot into windows, only on OS X.
The pinstripes on the Acer moved when i adjusted the contrast, from vertical to horizontal, and back.
Whats the deal with this? It's not that big of a deal, but it sure is concerning me.
Thanks for your help.
Additional Specs:
HP 2009m, on DVI
Mac Mini (Early 2009) NVIDIA GeForce 9400
4GB RAM
Mac OS X 10.6.2
