I have a HP PSC 2510, and I am currently using HP's drivers for it. These drivers are terrible. HP insists on installing a bunch of other crap including a dock item that comes up every login whether I want it or not. Also, a process called "HP Communications" starts to take up around 100% of the CPU a few minutes after login.

I heard something about being able to use Apple's printer drivers with this printer. If anyone could elaborate on this or help me find another solution, that would be great.

The one touch CPU-cycle burning buttons.

Awsome feature for slowing the computers down. :(

There may also be a way to deinstall the USB polling feature/driver that looks at the button -- if it didn't get installed in startup items.
