I was given an HP PSC 1210 to use with my mid 2011 Mac Mini running Mountain Lion. I almost never need to print anything but I scan a lot (I save receipts, etc, that way). I plugged it in via usb, added it to my list of printers, and it said it can't find the software. See the attached pic. I downloaded the driver from the Mac Update site and it still tells me it has nothing. Any ideas?

Yeah. Did that. Same issue.

----------

It tells me the software isn't currently available from the update server...but I downloaded and installed the driver.

I have the same problem here with my HP PSC 1210 too. It is correctly installed but every time I turn it on, it asked me to install the software. When I click Yes, it search for a while and fail.

The weird thing is that the printer work correctly...
