Hey guys. Just wondered if anyone can confirm whether or not the HP ScanJet 5200C will work in Panther and/or Tiger. My grandma is getting an iMac G3 and I thought I'd give her my old scanner since it's just collecting dust. I haven't been able to find any drivers for the scanner, but I wondered if it might just work as plug 'n play.

Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

I'd love to know about this as well. I got a 5200C from someone who was giving it away, but got no CDs along with it. I haven't been able to find HP drivers for it, either, but found this story on Apple.com about a small business that allegedly uses the same scanner... so I'd think the software must exist somewhere.

They have PCs listed there too under business hardware.

I believe we have these same scanners in our Yearbook class. They don't work with Image Capture, etc. but there is software out there that doesn't use the standard TWAIN drivers to access scanners and the like. I'll look for the name later, but it has a chance of doing what you'd like.
