Hi there,

I recently purchased the w2207h monitor as an external display for my macbook. I like the monitor a lot but have noticed that sometimes the text does not look as crisp as it probably should be looking.

I am running it using VGA right now but plan to connect it to my macbook through the HDMI port on the monitor. Will this change the text crispness?

Has anyone encountered something similar with this monitor or another?

Thanks!

I've had the previous, non-HDMI version of the 2207 since mid-07 connected to my QS, and neveranottaproblemo with it. Always clear, sharp & crisp regardless of what it is displaying :p

Although I have never had it connected to a macbook, I have had it connected to several windblows lappys and desktops, using both VGA and DVI, and the DVI connection ALWAYS looks better to me.......

AFAIK, keeping everything digital works best......

I'm an Apple newbie, but I own that same monitor and have a lot of experience with it connected to a PC. Text will always look crisper with DVI/HDMI over VGA. I have my Macbook Air hooked up to it right now via mini display -> DVI -> HDMI. The text is crisp, and the picture is decent (nothing like the the beauty of the Macbook Air screen though). I wish I didn't have to use multiple adapters, but I get better results that VGA.
