Hey all - so today I got my brand my Mac Mini M1, and the display I finally decided on, a HP Z32 4K monitor.

I purchased it on a danish retailer site - listed as demo, with no notes on the condition other then it was fully working and either a return or repair.

So I packed it out and connected it to the Mac Mini via the usb-c cable supplied with the monitor. It connected automatically at 4K resolution at 60hz. But a long line at the right side of the display ran from top to bottom. Very noticeable. I tried running with a hdmi cable and it was the same.

Now after having the displayed turned on for a few hours the line faded a bit and later when I played with the resolution, I suddently saw that when I had the display in 2560x1440 scale the line was gone and also when I went back to 4k.

Isn't this strange? I'm worried that there are some dead pixels or something wrong with the display so not sure if I should keep it...

Pictures when I turned on everything and saw the strange line:

Quick update - I feel silly. Read on a Dell support forum, that they recommended plugging the monitor directly into the power outlet and that helped.... :) Oh well - thankful it was just that.

UPDATE: Naaah - still there after having turned off the computer and monitor for around an hour :-(

I sense that has something to do with things.
Can it be returned?
If so, I'd return it and get a "brand new" one.

Needs to be replaced.
