Hello all!

I just purchased a used HP1000 series Laserjet and now am having a heck of a time getting the drivers installed on for my Macbook. Apparently, HP never released drivers for the OSX! Here are a couple of threads I found on the subject:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/34977/
http://forums.appleinsider.com/showthread.php?t=86205
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1198855&start=0&tstart=0

The problem is this: while a couple of other sites were offering the drivers for a period, they're now defunct and I can't seem to locate any new sources. Any ideas? Really any help would be sincerely appreciated. Aside from the drivers issue, the printer is in great working order. I'd really hate to lose it!

Thanks so much.

Thanks for the reply!

Actually, I bought it used. He didn't have the CD. But I'm not sure it matters. As near I can tall, HP never released drivers for OSX.

Still trying to work something out. Any help would be great!

Thanks, larkost. Sadly the HP 1000 series isn't covered by Gutenprint.

This seems so ridiculous to me! :p

I did manage to find and install the linux drivers "foo2zjs," which some people said might work. But it's not working. Sorry for being such a neophyte! My computer is a mirage to me.

Any other thoughts? I'd be super grateful!
