HR Glance: How long for measurement?

I'm curious about this, since I sometimes see posts where people feel they have a defective HR monitor in their watch for various reasons.

When you swipe to the HR glance, how long does it typically take before the HR measurement appears? For mine, it's about 18 seconds.

I am pretty sure that the watch samples 15 seconds of your heart rate before giving you the total. So your 18 seconds would be normal.

I just counted 16 seconds.

That's because fitbit's HR monitor is always on if I recall correctly.

right. and battery lasted 5 days. i sold mine to help pay for my AW, but i do miss some of those features.

Weirdly, I used to have a HR Chest Monitor that I used all the time, along with ismoothrun and my pebble watch. So I could easily see at a glance my HR....and was regularly checking during a run/workout. Since getting the apple watch, I rarely check my heart rate and pay more attention to calories burned.
