Anyone else having problems connecting to SSL sites via https in Safari 2.0? I cannot connect to any servers.

Magically, I fixed the problem all by myself.

Copy the files

X509Anchors and
X509Certificates

from a Panther copy of /System/Library/Keychains

to your Tiger copy of /System/Library/Keychains

For some reason, these were not generated during the Tiger install. Once you perform this action, some ssl related problems (such as mine above, which also included ssl email I found out) go away.

Hope this helps someone out a bit.

Well, sorta - I can seem to connect to SSL servers that have "invalid" certs, but not others, such as www.mac.com ... which is odd. You need to be able to log in securely to mac.com in order to create a tiger .mac account.

Am I the only one with this difficulty? Is there some default keygen that never occurred?

If anyone else noticed - are the security options in the Safari debug menu dimmed out for anyone else?
