Hi all. I know there's a thread for hubs, and after scrolling through a few pages I realized I wasn't seeing anything that suits my specific needs. I tried being a good boy and finding the answer on my own, but I just don't have the patience to sift through that many pages of recommendations. Sorry. 😞

I have a hub that I purchased from Amazon, and it works exactly the way I want it to but I do wish it had a couple of USB C ports and SD/Micro SD card readers.

Here's the gist...I have my 2019 MBP connected to an external monitor in extended desktop mode. My laptop rarely leaves my desk other than for travel, so I need a hub that has it's own power supply (which mine does) that allows me to use my laptop and monitor without the charging cable plugged into the MBP. The hub connects via USB C to the forward USB C port on the MBP and I connect the charging cable to the Thunderbolt 3 port at the rear. I've attached a pic of the set up in case I didn't explain clearly. Hub at the bottom connects via USB C to the forward port on the MBP. MBP charging cable connects to the rear port (it is connected with a mag adapter and a 90 degree USB C adapter)

Basically I'm looking for something that functions exactly the same way as the one I have, but would like the added USB C port(s) and SD/Micro SD readers.

Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks.

I have had a good experience with my Novoo USB-C Hub that I use with my 2019 MBP. Novoo makes an 8 in 1 USB-C Hub that has an extra USB-C PD port so that you can charge your laptop. The USB-C PD port can be used to power your laptop or as an extra USB-C port. It also features SD and TF card slots.
