Hi There,
I have just bought my first Phillips Hue set up at Christmas. Set Up: I have a single bulb and version 2 of the hub. a)Our internet provider is Hyperoptic which comes through a fibre to the home router. This works fine. I do not have physical access to the router so have extended the network to an Apple Airport Base Station.
This has allowed me to plug the hue bridge into the ethernet. I have extended the network so it is on the same SSD as the main router. Problem: The Phillips Hue app can not see the bridge if I have the airport station set up as an extended. If I set up the base station as a standalone wifi network (although no internet) I can connect to the bridge via the app and everything works as expected.
Any ideas how I can make the app see the bridge via the app with the router working as an extender and not standalone? Sorry, new to all this and not great with networking… Thanks in advance
