Hello,
I have just deleted a few Gb of useless files.

To my surprise, after checking the free space, I have noticed that I have not had any great increase of space available.

The amount of space taken by the Backup has however increase by more or less the amount of files deleted.

I do not understand why and I would not like them to be backed up by time machine.

Any clue?

Thanks,
daniele

What you are seeing is normal. When you have Time Machine turned on and you delete files they go into a hidden folder at /.Mobilebackups. The OS will mange that space and start to delete the files as the disk gets closer to full. You can read about it here.
