I have noticed a huge battery drain while wearing my apple watch at home vs being out in the world.

I put my Apple Watch Series 6 (Cellular, Watch OS 7.1) Beta 2 on today around 11:00 AM, and right now it is at 54% Battery

Sunday I was in Pittsburgh and put my watch on around 8:00 AM and did not get home until around 9:00 PM and it was still at 62%

Does anyone have a reason why this would happen? When I'm not home my watch lasts significantly longer. Something I can change?

iPhone 11 Pro Max IOS 14.2 Beta 2 - I have experienced this drain prior to these Betas.

My first thought would be: when you are home do you leave your iPhone somewhere in the house?

The Watch will try to keep contact with your phone via Bluetooth if it can, then switch to WiFi next if it can‘t. When you are out and about I presume you have your iPhone with you, but at home you might leave it somewhere out of the way so your watch switches to WiFi which is more energy-hungry?

Actually, my phone is on me the same amount as my watch. I'm always on call you could say, so I never really leave it. They are almost always very close.

I turned Wifi off. I'm wondering if it is an issue with the watch and wifi. Being that when I'm not home it lasts significantly longer and I'm not on Wi-Fi at that time. I will update if that helps. I have no other issues with my other devices when it comes to Wi-FI

Look for an app syncing. For instance, podcasts or music, or something, loading to your watch will chew up the battery as it has to load the backlog. Once it gets caught up, and the sync is shorter, you'll see less battery use.

Of course, it could be what the other people are talking about, or something else, as well.

You’re running beta, maybe you should report this back to Apple...
I absolutely would but this was an issue before Beta. I was just talking to my wife and she mentioned her Wi-Fi on her 11 Pro Max (Non Beta) is very slow and she always just turns it off. I don't see this issue with my phone or other devices connected to the network. She has a Series 4 and does not see this battery drain. I will report back after using it tonight while at home with the Wi-Fi turned off.

The watch shouldn't turn on wifi unless it's out of bluetooth range of the phone.

Maybe explicitly turn off wifi on the watch and see what happens.

I'd also look to see what third party apps you're using and try disabling them one at a time
