iPod touch Huge Error WIFI Won't Work on 1G 8GB TOUCH

I am just wondering, I purchased my iPod touch 1st Gen 8GB back around October 8th or 9th the year it was realeased, and recently my wifi has not been working since upgrading to the new 3.1.3 software. The error message I get is, COULD NOT SCAN FOR WIFI NETWORKS does anyone know a fix for this, I would appreciate it :).
 
Is your wifi grayed out? If it isn't probably because you dropped it somewhere and the wifi chip came loose?
 
Are you sure your wi-fi routers operating? If it started exactly when you upgraded then its probably the software.
