Huge Map of the World

I'm looking for, essentially, a huge graphic political map of the entire world that features all major cities, and most larger cities, on it. Preferably this would be an image I could use in a software project I'm working on without having to purchase.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've pulled satellite shots from NASA's site in the past. May be too close-cropped fr your use, but I think you'd find affordable higher rez imagery faster from a gov agency than from a commercial source. Worth a try, IMO. Cheers!
