Touchbar version:
  • 49.2 watt hour battery
  • 28 W processor
Non-touchbar version:
  • 54.5 watt hour battery
  • 15 W processor
While both have the same screen which is the biggest power draw... wouldn't the differences listed above count for some sort of battery life difference between the two models?

Battery life is kind of nebulous. If the NonTB version gets 10.3 hours and the TB version gets 9.7 hours, you really don't have to specify a difference.

it doesn't make sense at all.
maybe apple didn't want the lower end model to have better battery life so they placed slightly less battery inside the machine?

Since Apple itself is showing the lower end model as having a larger battery on their own specs page for the MacBook Pro, I highly doubt they would do what you are implying since battery size is easily verified via a teardown :p
