Presumably as a cost-cutting measure, but the iPhone 4 doesn't have the little capsule with XXGB on the back, at least on all of the WWDC hands-on pictures:

That does not save any money. It's not like Apple needs a completely different machine just to put a few different symbols on the back of the iPhones. I think it's just because they were floor show units, but maybe Apple really did remove it.

Hum, can't believe no one noticed that yet. Nice find. They aren't on the official pictures of the phone on apple.com either.

I would imagine that going from 4 backs (2 sizes x 2 colors) to two backs (just size) would save money. Maybe not on silver ink, but I'd think that whatever it shaves off assembly, etcetera would reduce costs.

Posted earlier today, etc, etc...
I've been on here most of the day and haven't seen it.

Why do you care? Are you going to forget the capacity of your iPhone? There's always ABOUT option in the General Settings.

Maybe it's the lack of sleep, but you seem a little aggressive. Since when is it a crime to post a 'hey, did anyone else notice..." thread?
