Hello, recently i have shot footage, in which there is a hum in the background, the hum is not extremely loud, but loud enough to be noticed. the voices talking in the background are extremely crisp. Is there a way i can keep the voices crisp in the audio while removing the hum? also I am not too familiar with the audio filters in FCE if someone would like to give me a step by step on what to do that would be awesome, i also have sound samples if anyone wants them. Thanks for everything.

If the hum is limited to a specific frequency, or a narrow range of frequencies, an EQ filer will allow you to reduce the frequencies that make up the hum. Just remember that if any of the audio that you want to keep is also on those frequencies, it too will be reduced.

You could also use a noise reduction tool such as found in SoundTrack Pro or SoundSoap.
