humming noise to the right of the trackpad

lately I've been hearing a humming noise coming from the right side, near the slot load drive. It doesn't happen all the time, but whenever I'm typing and have my wrist on top of the right side I hear it.

any suggestions?

Do you have a disc in the drive at the time? If you do, the weight of your wrist on that area may be enough to rub on the disc.

If that's not the case, take a look at ifixit.com. Use the internal diagram there combined with pressing lightly on the case to attempt to reproduce it - that will give you some idea of what is rattling.
