I love making fun of these, but I may be giving my g4 to my mom soon and just using my laptop with my 23", and having the laptop on an elevated platform would be kinda nice I guess.
However, I have a 16" sony laptop. I'm not concerned about the weight or the size as it's about the same weight and near the same size as a 17" MBP. However, the battery is on the back of the machine, and this is where my concern begins.
Since the laptop's center of mass (when open) is more towards the rear than the front, I'm wondering if there's enough overhang for the machine to fall backwards off the stand; Mine's about 10" deep and 15" wide (which is barely smaller than a 17" MBP.
