Prior to installing Loin I downloaded a software update to Safari, and I think it said something about Lion.
Shortly after it stared consuming over 95% of CPU and over 2GB real memory.
After trying several things Apple care said this is a known issue and would be corrected shortly.
Anyone else run across this?

Nope. Safari only consumes CPU cycles when loading a page, and I have not seen it eek past 500 MB of RAM (although I don't leave it running for weeks, some, however, have seen memory leaks).

For me its the opposite... prior to Lion i used to have about 800+MB of ram being used by Safari but now it tops at around 450-500MB.

It starts off fine, and without trying to load or anything real mem. keeps increasing.
Also I'm not able to shut it down, I have to go to forced quit.
