Hyperdrive HDMI only works on the right side....

Ever since updating High Sierra to 10.13.5 Beta (17F35e) my hyperdrive recognizes the power input, the USBs, SD cards etc but does NOT recognize the HDMI. This was working fine before I upgraded. Yesterday I switched my Hyperdrive from the left side to the right and it now recognizes the HDMI. I did a diagnostic test and the Mac came back with no issues.

Is this a software bug as I do not think it is Hyperdrive-related?
