Hyperlinks in Powerpoint 2008

I have a serious problem using links in Microsoft Office powerpoint 2008. I have a presentation in directory 'Documents'. When I make an hyperlink to another presentation in directory 'Documents\location' the '\' symbol changes to %5C most of the time. So I am forced to copy all files to the directory in which my main presentation is located. I face this problem also when I make a link to a movie or whatever.
How can I solve this problem?
