I was hanging out with a buddy and he brought up the fact that it would be awesome to have a cellphone app that would tell you the current likelihood your partner would cheat on you. Im baffled by this but he was serious. he said you would start up the app and then take a pic of the two of you with the cellphone camera , it would then calculate how high of a chance currently he or she would cheat on you. So team if such a thing existed and it worked would you buy it.
Id say no personally. i think finding out if it was a high number could make me more stressed about our relationship

Anyone who bought such a program, however stupid the concept, would immediately become a suspect of the same thing.

Or a control freak.

Either way, time to head for the door.

Did he give you any idea on how he expected it to tell from a picture what the complex emotional state between two people was? And how the app was able to look into the future and judge how people might react to uncertain events (like meeting other people)? Or was he just a little drunk?

im guessing the app would be scifi based. He said it would look at all previous events between both parties. No he was sober

A simpler solution would be a lie detector app. The SO won't even have to know, ask a few questions at the end of the day with the app turned on and voila. :D

Your friend has some trust issues.

How exactly does a photo record 'all previous events between both parties'? This sounds like something I should be aware of.

Btw there's already a very old very sketchy version of this, the 'Love Calculator' I believe (my roommate watches too much TV) where you text your and your partner's name to the service, and it tells you if you'll break up (or something).

yeah Ive heard of that. like I said im pretty sure its scifi based. ill ask him for more info later today

Scifi based?

The app would be nothing more than a novelty. There would be no way there would be any accuracy or truth in the results.

i dont think so. scifi based as in a fantasy world it would really work. like Harry potter ish or something along those lines where people move in newspapers etc.

Hypothetical implies that it may be possible. Scifi implies that it's a fantasy.
