ATT dropped their unlimited data plan for new users when the iphone 4 came out. Verizon is rumored to be dropping their unlimited data plan as well at some point (presumably before the iphone comes to verizon). For those that are currently on an unlimited data plan with verizon (ie, you have a droid, palm pre, etc.) wouldn't you be able to keep that plan if you got an iphone (even if verizon got rid of the unlimited data plans)?

Verizon has grandfathered services in the past, so I doubt this would be an exception.

The only time it wouldn't happen is if they released the iPhone after LTE is rolled out, in which case they can claim that since it's a new technology, unlimited data isn't supported.

Note that Verizon has a soft cap at 5GB anyways and their new tiered plans will likely have at least one tier that is at 5GB.
