so this is a little advice, USE TIME MACHINE!!! i bought a new internal HDD and i use my old one a an external, to back up with time machine, anyways everytime i turned on my macbook i got a systemUI error message soooo i went into time machine and went back a couple days, found the folder that the bad file was in and i restored the entire file now it is working perfectly. so use time machine it is very useful. :):):):apple::):):)

I take it for granted right now, because I haven't had any problems. I guarantee that whenever I have a problem, I will make a post just like yours. Glad to hear it worked out for you.
 
Corrected that for you. ;)

What is not working? Do you get an error message? Have you updated to 10.5.2? Maybe someone can help if you give more details.
no error message
just when it backs up it stops halfway through and says last back up at
19th december 2007
then when i go on time machine there is just the backups from the 19th october-19th december
