any ideas ...I have changed it out several times ...I am thinking, though, owc doesnt say ....this wont work with ventura- tim doesnt like owc in his pocket --

next will try a restore .....seems like a huge hassle just to upgrade memory from 8bg to 64 on a 2017k5 27" Imac-I cant be the only one!?? thanks

---fixed half assed...52 gb instead of the 64 I had intended --

put back in top slot the orig 4gb card....booted up just fine...........must be a Ventura issue seems to work with other versions ..many thanks to guy that worked his polictian off to fix and to post the fix....here is my condribution.once again thanks all and none to owc

mic and sound wont work cant get em to show up.....??? guess I will have to take out my new owc memory and put my 8gb back in.....these macs are worse than being married to a bunch of hookers .......

Did you try single sticks of the new ram, just to test? One pair would still give you 32GB, and you could also try adding 1 or 2 of those 16GB sticks to the 8 that you already have...

OWC support is usually pretty good with these kind of issues.
What did they tell you when you called them?

they may pretty good but not on sat or sunday....it seems I am not the only one according to searches....so I assume it is ventura....and also I assume at least I am hopeful that owc will find a resolution an make it good -frankly I don't want my money back I want 64gb of workable memory for 200 bucks -yes I jacked around with the positioning etc and so has a another complainer -- at 52gb really weird stuff --my deal is buy the stuff install and NOT spend day weeks trying to debug stuff......thanks tho,.--we will see what they tomorrow chances are they will be flooded with c/s calls fortunetly I am in no real hurry. ty

There's always a chance it's an issue with one or more RAM slot…and perhaps a single contact on said slot(s).

If there hasn't been anything in a slot for a few years it's possible some corrosion has occurred.

after having been brow beaten by two owc tekkies for 4 hours no promised return calls etc the kind of s***t you get from crap c/s--I finally convinced them I wanted another set of ram.they seemed concerned that it was going to cost me.....( must be apaperwork hassle for them) (and the reason they even have a job I suppose.) i returned the old got the new today carefully no static by the nubers put that ram in ...perfecto.....so hooray for owc ...and boo hiss or giving me s***t (unnessisarly) of course I said they were "great"...in their reiview just between us "great" aholes.....

as I stated new came ..i carefully installed......all went well....returned orig memory gave the aholes an outstanding review....I suppose they get weary trying to help old people on the phone....but, that is their job and it wasnt for me and others they would be flippig burgers and being prickish about that...every body has to be somewhere-
