I am using Serato with my Macbook - the sound quality is very bad

Hi

I am using i-tunes as a database for all my music for Serato and the quality is very bad. It's like a trembling sound. I have looked everywhere for help and I hope I can get some here.... I am playing (DJing) in a Bar and this is very embarrassing!!!

I am working on a macbook Mac OSX 10.5.5
Processor 2.4 GHZ intel core duo
Memory 2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM

I still have loads of memory as I only use this computer for DJing.

PLEASE HELP!!!
