I am waiting for the iphone 6 now...not wasting an upgrade

I have a 4s now and with the addition of ios6 I am not feeling the need for the 5 even though I have an upgrade available.
I still wish it was wider as well as taller to actually have a bigger usable screen.

Apple continues to evolve their product and giving the old products software upgrades greatly adds value to an excellent product.

I don't think the step from a 4 to a 4s is any different than a 4s to a 5 IMHO (now that the 4s has ios6).

Bring on the 5s (edit: I know the next one will be called a 5s...splitting hairs here)next year!!!

Why wait? You could get hit by a car tomorrow, make the best of today.
Also, 5S not 6.

Well if you plan on waiting for the iPhone 6 you'll have to wait 2 years. iPhone 5S is most likely coming next year.

good for you, thanks for sharing, i however went from 4-5 and am very impressed, speed alone is worth the upgrade...but from 4s to 5 i understand, good luck on the wait.

I think the jump your going to see from the 4s to the 5 is much more significant of that youll see from the 5 to the 5s. Suit yourself OP

you are just gonna keep waiting.. y not wait two more years for someother phone ? or wait, just dont get one! lol

I wouldn't wait buddy.

Be prepared to be disappointed. You know as well as anyone that it's most likely going to be a 5S and not a 6 next year.

People keep saying this, and it's demonstrably false.
4 --> 4s: faster processor, better camera, Siri.
4s --> 5: faster processor, faster graphics, 2x ram, better camera, better front camera, redesigned body, bigger screen, thinner, lighter, stronger glass, better wifi, LTE.

I have a 4s and am not upgrading as of now, but facts are facts. This is the second biggest upgrade apple has ever done to the iPhone, after 3GS to 4.

I'm on the "s" program too. Like OP I have the 4s. There really is a point of diminishing return where making the incremental step isn't worth it especially when upgrades are 2 years not one. I'm happily waiting for the 5s.

The next one will be the 5S, not the 6. You can upgrade to the 5 for free, and then in two years upgrade for free to the 6. Or you can keep paying the carrier the same amount without getting anything extra.

As mention....Guess you have been out of the loop too long or have not paid attention. Next release will be the iPhone 5s not 6. Same happen to the 4 to the 4s. Minor upgrade. Guess you will be waiting two years. ;)

3GS to 4 was small.
Same 3G speed. Same CortexA8 single core, minor mhz bump. Same GPU.

4-4S
doubled cellular bandwidth. Diversity Antennas. Introduced multithreading, dual core, and new A9 architecture. New dual-core GPU.

Coming from the Galaxy S3 (4S prior to that), I thought it'd be hard to adjust to the 5.

I honestly think this is a great size for a phone.

I have large hands and was able to use the S3 as I did a 4 with one hand, but the iPhone 5 just feels better.

3 months on S3 and this didn't feel like a downgrade.

Retina? new completely revamped design? better camera? FaceTime?

I know I should have said 5s. In any case for MY needs a 4s with ios6 is VERY close to 5.

I had a friends 5 to compare this morning and I did a speedtest on both side by side and there was no difference.
The iphone 5 dropped a call while at my place this morning too...they have NOT improved the antennae ( not sure if that was a claim as was with the 4s).

IF the 5 had an improved antennae yet again...I WOULD get it...not sure now.

You mean your waiting a whole year for the minor spec bumped 5s ;)

Have fun waiting :)
Actually, despite the names, Im starting to think that the phones get paired into 3's rather than 2's.

First Wave: Original iPhone, 3G, 3GS

Second Wave: iPhone 4, 4S, 5

Third Wave: The All New iPhone 6

Last one is obviously a joke, but in all seriousness then with the competition getting so much stronger this year then I think it would make perfect sense for Apple to skip a 5S and go straight to a new design. And that means in Late Oct 2013 we'd get an "All New iPhone 6" complete with a new take on the OS.
