I noticd there is EFI update 1.1 for my imac. I am very worried about installing this update because I heared it can wreck your computer if it goes wrong. I have burned a firmware restore disc, but does that cover EFI updates gone wrong?

Please help...

I think the main thing that can go wrong is if you shut off the computer before it's finished. Just follow the instructions to the letter and you will be ok.

Good luck.

Firmware

What happens if it goes wrong?

You may have to bring your computer for repair by Apple.

All you have to make sure is that, you don't disconnect the power by accident.. and wait until the process is complete.

Good luck!

I'd wait till after the New Year so that no drunk drivers hit a pole and knock the power out and make sure the weather is nice when you do it.

Wimp ;)

Just do it!

No kidding. :p

Seriously, just do it. The machine's fans will blow it's fastest & loudest, and will only take 1 minute.

Seriously, nothing will go wrong.

Don't worry about it. Just set it to go and walk away... it'll do its thang.

Edit: woops... missed that last post... glad it worked for ya

I can get very worried sometimes! :D I just hope there isn't going to be a 1.2 update too soon! I've seen a 1.2 for the MBP, so I think they might be a 1.2 for the iMac soon.
