I've been using an iPhone since day one and have just found out something amazing. A feature I bet almost noone knows. I least I did'nt know about that. And its sooo obvious:eek:

Unlock your iPhone, when you see the homescreen you can swipe from left to right through your Screens. Everyone knows that of course.
BUT... See those dots on the lower end of the LCD, they stand for the your Homescreens everyone knows that, too. Have you ever swiped on them? I mean, just do a little swipe with you finger on on the dots. The swipe has to begin an end on them. That case the Homescreen swipes, too. But in the opposite direction!

Meaning if you swipe across the screen anywhere from left to right the homescreen swipes from left to right.
But if you swipe on the dots from left to right, the homescreen swipes from right to left and so on.

This works with every app I tried where there are dots visualizing pages. The Weather app for example does this two!

Why havent I noticed that before?!?! :apple:

iP5, iOS 6.1.2

You can also tap either side of the row of dots to achieve the same thing (and IMO it's easier)

It's standard iOS behaviour and you can do it anywhere you have a row of dots representing multiple pages (e.g. in the weather app)

Settings->General->Accessiblity->AssistiveTouch->On
(Ignore the Create New Gesture for now)

You'll get a little 'dot' that you can drag around the screen and perform fast actions with.

Did you know that?

Kinda pointless for me, since I keep all my apps to 1 screen. :p

But you are right in that I was never aware of this feature.

I knew this feature already but I never ever use it, you just have to really touch this tiny little area. I often fail tho & it doesn't do anything.
I keep on swiping like 'normal' people do^^

1 page??? you need more apps!

I downloaded apps like crazy when I first got my iphone, but slowly deleted those I hardly used. I have about 60 apps classified amongst 9 folders. Also trying the launch app to consolidate some of the more common functions like call and text. :)

Using folders you can get a pretty big amount of apps on one page. Many people don't even use apps or don't need more than 2 or 3.

I use folder enhancer so I only need two home pages. The 1st is pretty much clean with just Facebook on it and then my 2nd holds my folders.

Thanks for this. I've done this accidentally before and couldn't figure out what was going on.

News to Me!

thanks for Sharing!

Although w/a 5 icon doc, 5 column wide & infiniFolders I only have 1 page of apps as well. :D

I did not know this either. Congrats, OP, I don't learn new iPhone tricks very often.

That said, this has to be the dumbest feature ever imagined. I can't believe Apple paid someone's salary for the time it took to program that.

The average # of apps on every iPhone is ~40.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone with an iphone that only had 2 or 3 apps on it.

I know at least 5 people that only have 2 or 3 apps. Where'd you get the number of 40 from?

I foud this a while back but you're right, it's not helpful in any meaningful way. I could see on the iPad, maybe, but not on the phone.
