What exactly have you bought and where from?

What format are the sound files?

Are they copy protected?

Please give as much information as possible if you want you question answered.

based on the limited information provided they could have DRM and that would keep them from working in iTunes, but we need more information to help.

Have you followed the instructions on their web site?

I can download ringtones but cannot install them in iTunes

You must save the ringtones to a permanent place on your computer, such as your Documents directory.

Then, if you still have them in ZIPFILE format, double click on the zipfile to extract/uncompress them.

Next, double click on the .m4r ringtone files and they should open up in iTunes. If not, drag them into iTunes manually. You may also be able to right-click on the .m4r file and specify to Open With iTunes.

Some users have had trouble with Opera or Chrome browsers. Those programs do not know how to handle .m4r files. Instead, try Firefox or Internet Explorer.

THANKS! If you still need help, please contact us directly.

While 100sounds is first and foremost a sound effects app, we have allowed our users to download 100's of ringtones at no extra charge. BUT, we decided to create a very cool ringtone app from the ground up, called AutoRingtone. You type your name and a caller's name, select from ~200 sound effects and dozens of speaking voices and a custom ringtone is created.
